Where did Quakerism
come from?

In 17th Century England, George Fox studied the Bible but found little agreement between its teachings and the actual practices of so-called religious people. Much of the advice he was given seemed irrelevant, so as a young man he left his work and began searching. During this time of social unrest and war, he heard a voice within saying, "There is One, even Christ Jesus, that can speak to thy condition."
George Fox is buried in London.
In keeping with Quaker beliefs in plainness and modesty, his grave has only a simple marker
